The tried and trusted dual action formula is clinically proven to help treat problematic ear wax. Otex Ear Drops work by breaking hardened ear wax into pieces so it can fall more easily from the ear. The drops come in an 8ml easy squeeze bottle - plenty for one treatment. Available from all good pharmacies. Always read the pack label and leaflet before use. A clinically proven, dual-action formula that effectively breaks down hardened ear wax and helps disperse it from the ear. In many cases, avoids the need for syringing. Comes in an 8 ml easy-squeeze bottle. Available over the counter in pharmacies. Has a clear, straw-coloured solution. The active ingredient is urea hydrogen peroxide.
Suitable For: Otex is suitable for use by adults, children and the elderly.
How To Use: Simply tilt head and squeeze up to 5 drops into the ear, leave for a few minutes then wipe away any surplus with a tissue. This procedure should be repeated once or twice daily while your symptoms clear. Treatment usually takes 3-4 days, after which you should notice a reduction in ear discomfort.
Storage: Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use the ear drops after the expiry date shown on the bottle and the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Once opened, do not keep the bottle for longer than 4 weeks. Store below 25°C in a cool place and keep out of sunlight. Always replace the cap tightly after use. Store the bottle upright in the outer carton to avoid spillage. Medical products such as this should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
Precautions: Do not use Otex Ear Drops: If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to urea hydrogen peroxide, 8-hydroxyquinoline and glycerol. If you have a history of ear problems, unless used under the close supervision of your doctor, nurse or pharmacist. If you are also putting anything else in the ear (such as other ear drops or a hearing aid). If your ear drum is (or has been) damaged. If you suffer from dizziness. If there is anything else wrong with your ear - such as pain, swelling, discharge, infection or tinnitus (ringing sounds in the ear). If you have tried to remove the ear wax using fingernails, cotton buds or other implements. (This is because you might have damaged the delicate inner lining of the ear, leading to swelling or infection.) This could make it painful to use the ear drops or bulb syringe. If you have had your ear syringed in the last 2 to 3 days – this could also make it painful to use the ear drops. Special Care: Consult a doctor if unsure and avoid getting the drops in your eyes. Potential Side Effects: Like all ear drops, Otex Ear Drops can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. A temporary mild bubbling sensation in the ear can occur (due to the release of oxygen as the drops break down the ear wax). The ea
